Thanks for the suggestions, but it didn't work. I downloaded version 7.1 of WMediaPlayer including new codecs, but didn't uninstall version 7.01 so 7.1 didn't install. Wasting 40 minutes I'll have to do it again.

Mark, sfc did find a few corrupt files and corrected so thanks for that one.

Suppose if reinstsalling WMedia Player 7.1 again doesn't do it I'll have to do a restore which I hate. Any suggestions?
