But one could say that the 1920sand the 1990s also had fundamentals behind them. The gold mania of the early 1980s went much beyond the fundamentals. As was amply proved by the sequel. As I learned the very hard way. I have no idea how much I lost on gold and silver because I thought renewed inflation was inevitable, but it was enormous.
