As you'll learn from reading my "911 digest", the masterminds of the worst terrorist assault on the US were Russia, Israel and French elements. The underlings may have been Arab (still a questionable premise since some of the alleged suicide-hijackers disclosed by the FBI immediately after 911 popped up ALIVE in Egypt, Saudi Arabia,...) and the main target itself may have been a Judeo-Christian Mecca (NYC), the plot was nonetheless a Judeofascist counterintelligence plot that turned awry --IMHO.
It seems you're quite knowledgeable about 1960s, 1970s politics, aren't you? Then I'd suggest you use the CIA/FBI's cointelpro records as a guide to grasp what happened on September 11th, 2001. The strategy of tension, Gladio, etc. were all aimed at Europe's far-left/Communist intelligentsia... Even the Italian Maffia was co-opted in a Europewide scheme to disrupt the Left (the Bologna train station bombing, the killing of Italian PM Aldo Moro, etc.)
I'm afraid the same strategy has been devised --by an FSB/Mossad/French intel. joint venture-- against the "Green Peril".
