GW: I forgot to bring up a concept I recently read about. An article, I can't remember if it was posted on SI or elsewhere, pointed out how recent stock split announcements have immediately led to substantial gains most of the time. If one had access to a real time news service, and none are evidently available on the 'net, one could take advantage of the resultant upturn. You would miss out on the initial upsurge when it hit the street but if you still acted quickly when the announcement came out on real time news you could profit substantially. The article said over 80% of stocks continued to move up for some time after the announcement so than if you got in towards the beginning you could do very well.

Of course, profiiting on splits isn't news, what is I think is the concept of jumping on the news ASAP after the announcement by utilizing a real time news service that provides this kind of info.

Any opinions? From where could one access real time news that could give this kind of info?

TIA

Bruce
