That's a very funny story! I love all these responses, and the one I am thinking quite seriously about is the column suggestion.... depending on what they do from here. My editor is very careful about printing anything negative that I write- it has to be absolutely true-- like the article about the HBO porn channel I got with a package from cable. I bet he wouldn't print anything bad about the city. I would have to make it obviously exaggerated and funny. Dan called back and the inspector was gone for the day, so he left his office number. I wonder if it will take 5 more weeks for them to return his call. Meanwhile I am heading to Home Depot to see how much that awful looking orange netting stuff is that people put up when they are working on their pools and fence is down. I just need two sections. But I want to protect us legally now. Dan is incensed- he says that the fence fell in because they failed to maintain the ditch and water flow properly, and that we called as soon as it fell and they didn't respond for five weeks, and he will see them in court and call Channel 8 news! I must make a hair appnt just in case. And get a new outfit.
