It is a minority opinion that the problem does not exist. The majority believes it does, in fact exist. I am not convinced over how much extra we are actually spending (and will be spending in the future) to address this problem. It is always possible that we will find a better and cheaper solution that will actually save money. You ask if it makes sense to spend money on a problem which may not exist. I believe yes if the scientific consensus says it exists. With what is at stake, IMO, better safe than sorry.

Concerning the issue of balance, it would be very hard to find a balanced "article" on the ozone problem, IMO. You would need extensive evidence on both sides of the issue. That would take a book. Most writers have a point of view and selectively choose the evidence which supports it. If I come across such a book, I'll let you know.

As I said, the article made a number of excellent points. Thanks for finding it and posting the url.
