I'll be slightly off key...as usual.

I had a friend (Dave) who was having a house built a while back. When the surveyor was out putting some stakes in the dirt Dave set up a tri-pod. Every few days Dave would be out with his camera taking shots of the development. I figured Dave was simply trying to keep a record for the grand kids. Nope, Dave wanted to make sure he had evidence. That became very apparent by the reaction he began to get from the construction workers when he brought out the camera. Dave's house was practically flawless (compared to some of the others in the project). Before the finish work on the home was started Dave approached the contractor with a list of things he wanted "taken care of."

I figured my buddy Dave was pretty slick. So, I was bragging to a contractor (Gus) about how cleaver my buddy was and gus started chuckling. Gus told me about his approach to dealing with overly enthusiastic buyers. Gus invites the home buyer out to take a look at the blue prints and do a walk about, at the earliest opportunity. He presses the buyer to clue him in on anything that should be "dealt with." Inevitably the buyer wants an extra electrical outlet or something. Gus makes a point not to put the electrical outlet in until the very last moment. But, each time the buyer shows up he walks him to the point where it will be placed, makes a big deal about how he will see to it himself and pushes beer or what ever in the buyers face to get he subject changed.
