Dear Intelianer, Remember - when Intel's CPUs blew past the frequency of the Athlon, MHz (frequency) suddenly wasn't important. Right? You said so. All the AMD fan boys said so. Jerry Sanders began to say it... So you and the AMD fan boys adopted the "performance is what counts" mantra. I and others adopted that mantra because Intel CPU's had higher MHz but lower performance. So let us just suppose that Banias can offer superb performance at lower clock frequency. Then it should be judged on how high its performance is, which is probably someplace between a Celeron P4 and a regular P4. Even if it runs at 1.5 GHz, it should sell for whatever its performance level is. You AMD fan boys should love it - embrace it - praise it to the moon - right? Yes, I applaud the idea of CPU's selling for whatever their performance level is, regardless of who makes them or what their MHz level is. I agree, MHz is meaningless, and I never said otherwise. Looks like Intel will ahve to embrace the same philosophy as I. Petz
