Leave them be. Do you have a pond or pool in your backyard? I have two ducks - a male and a female - who visit regularly every spring. They come in the morning and evening. Then the male only comes. I think they raise their youngsters elsewhere. They are drawn by all the birdseed I put in various places throughout the yard.

When the dogs are out, they go into my neighbor's yard and wait for them to go back inside. They know the dogs don't go beyond a certain line (because of the invisible fence.)
