Signal Technology Introduces Two New Microwave Products; Company's Defense Group Expands Microwave Product Line with High-Power PIN Diode Switch and RF Bit Detector BUSINESS WIRE - May 31, 2002 07:00 DANVERS, Mass., May 31, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Signal Technology Corporation (Nasdaq: STCO) today announced that its Defense Group has introduced two new products designed to meet complex microwave signal and frequency management challenges. Production of both products will take place at the Company's Massachusetts-based Olektron Division.
The High Power SP2T Switch, Model O-ISLT-2-2131, operating at 6 to 18 GHz, offers internal termination for the un-selected port, and passes a 100 Watt CW signal without distortion or damage. The switch is designed for use in electronic countermeasures or similar defense electronics applications where transmit/receive or antenna selection functions are required. The device is based on PIN diode technology and offers the reliability of solid state switching.
"The SP2T Switch represents the first in a family of products we are developing for the high power microwave switch market space," said Tom Casale, Olektron Division vice president and general manager. "PIN switch products are a natural extension of our microwave engineering capabilities and proven MIC manufacturing and processing techniques."
Signal Technology has also introduced a new RF Bit Detector, Model O-DET-2116, operating at 9.4 to 10.0 GHz, which offers adjustable level detection and thresholding functions. The detector is equipped with a sample and hold circuit so that it can be used with pulsed signals. Applications include transmitter level control, VSWR protection and minimum signal level detection.
"We are working to continue expanding our microwave product line both in functionality and in frequency coverage," said John Cotumaccio, president and chief operating officer, Signal Defense Group. "These new products reflect both of these objectives and, most important, our goal of providing Signal Technology customers with industry-leading solutions to their most complex signal/frequency management challenges." |
