I am not aware of a fund that specifically invests in the HUI index, as there are barely any gold index funds, as such. The american century gold fund used to be an XAU index fund, but they have gotten away from that, and has been a very good performer. If you read Hathaway's(he manages the gold fund) recent article, which I can e-mail to you, or you can no doubt find it on the Tocqueville fund web site, you can surmise that he steers clear of heavily hedged gold producers: so, I would think that the Tocqueville gold fund should be a close facsimile of an HUI index fund, as an example. Gold-eagle.com has extensive links to gold funds and comparisons.
Hope this helps.

Dan
