Re: BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Belgium is a recruiting ground for Islamic militants, with one in 10 mosques used to spread anti-Western ideas, senators privy to secret service testimony said on Thursday.
A confidential Senate report based on evidence from the state security service and seen only by members of the upper house's oversight committee, said Belgium was being used to recruit anti-Western radicals.
``It is the first time we have a global view of the danger, a view we did not have in the past,'' Senator Hugo Vandenberghe, a member of the committee, told Reuters.
``The conclusion is that there are extremist groups recruiting in Brussels, that there is an influence from certain mosques to mobilize people who are not compatible with Western society and civilization,'' he said, adding that certain foreign nations -- via their embassies -- also exert influence.
What a platitude... Belgium's mosques a "recruiting ground for Islamic militants", eh? Sure, but who's the recruiter?? Keep in mind that Belgium is a tiny turf --about the size of Lake Michigan... Hence, each and every shenanigans by the local immigrants are closely watched/reported/filed. If anything, the prime "recruiters" of Islamic terrorists are the Belgian security apparatus itself together with Mossad. Israeli intelligence has successfully infiltrated the Belgian police (formerly the Gendarmerie and the police judiciaire recently merged into the Police Federale) whereas the Surete de l'Etat works hand in hand with North African regimes (Algeria, Tunisia). So much so that they were able to hire two Tunisian hitmen to kill André Cools (a bigshot from Liege) in 1991 --courtesy of Tunisia/Ben Ali... Thereafter, the same Belgian-Tunisian connection was sparked again in 2001 to get the Tunisian GPS-stoolies to locate Massoud.
So, the point is that Islamist terrorists can't and don't have any interest in messing around in Belgium ON THEIR OWN. The sad, cynical truth is that Belgium's immigrants are used as a convenient pool of "human resource" by the Belgian Gestapo to carry out shabby jobs....
