"Inventories were written down faster than they were replenished. In other words, the GDP increase was down (due?) to channel stuffing rather than end user buying."

If that was the case, then sales would have to show an increase (ie shipments generally) and they were -5.5% compared to Q1 2001 and -.26% compared to Q4 2001.
