Oracle hired someone to do an analysis of the CA audit, and I found the results very interesting. The CA audit made assumptions that I found unwarranted, and some of them are already demonstrably wrong (one was that the broader availability of the software wouldn't stimulate demand, and another was that demand for software was basically like demand for office chairs). It's not astonishing that the Oracle-inspired audit concluded that the deal was actually a good one for CA, but as least I got to read the details of both this study and a lot more about the CA audit in the Oracle press release. I had never seen and of this information in the newspapers, of course.
