Anybody who knows what an operating system is and how it interfaces at a low level with hardware, knows that it is impossible for QDOS to run "out-of-the-box" on an architecture that hadn't even been finalized when Patterson sat down to clone CP/M and produced QDOS.

and if you did know anything about QDOS, you would know that it was written for the INTC 8086.... the 8088 is exactly the same as the 8086 except for INTC made it cheaper by making a minor change.... the 8088 is considered a LESS POWERFUL processor......this is the processor that IBM first put into the first IBM PC you dolt.... the OS ran perfectly on the PC because that is WHAT IT WAS WRITTEN FOR...... geesh.... MSFT probably spent 15 mins making in change to how it delt with this minor change to lesson the abilities of QDOS to run better with this cheap processor...... that is how similar the two chips are....

even if another completely different processor was chosen, it would take only half a day to change the code relating to which processor you want to use...... that is how simple DOS was......

Tim Patterson wrote the entire OS in 6 weeks by himself..... that's how simple this OS was for god's sake.........
