What a difference a proven track record and a monopolistic competitor makes? Hammer won't be available for months and the mobo makers are jumping over each other to announce support and demonstrate models. AMD's success with the Athlon gives it credibility with Hammer, and Intel's heavy handed tactics leads Nvidia and others to see AMD's success as their success.
