Semi, are you saying that engineers drive the product development and release at Intc? I thought it was marketers. When Intc went with rambus, people had NO problems with rambus the company other than the royalty payments. The reason why it failed was because it was 2-3 times as expensive as the alternatives with little performance benefit especially for the lowly 1.3-1.6 Ghz P4s that Intel sold the 1st year. I don't care to follow this argument further, let's wait until there are real app benchmarks on Itanic/Itanic2 and then we can pick it up again. I would be more than glad to take back all my comments if Itanic is actually a good overall performer. C
