RESEARCH ALERT-JP Morgan raises Vishay price target
Reuters Company News
biz.yahoo.com
NEW YORK, June 3 (Reuters) - JP Morgan said on Monday it raised its target price for electronic components maker Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (NYSE:VSH) to $32 from $24, because of stronger activity at its manufacturing sites and a weakening U.S. dollar.

JP Morgan said in a research note it recently visited Vishay manufacturing facilities in California and Nebraska and found activities on the uptrend. It also said a weakening dollar will help Vishay compete against Japanese companies.

The firm, which has a "buy" rating on Vishay's stock, said it estimated its earnings at 51 cents per share for 2002 and $1.24 for 2003, based on top line growth of 11 percent each year. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial/First Call expected Vishay to earn 48 cents for 2002 and $1.12 for 2003.
