Pearly Button,

Likewise, I'm sure! <smile>

I checked out Mr. Phillips pedigree pretty thoroughly. Died in the wool Republican. Your HYSTERICAL outburst, notwithstanding.

Re: I was looking at where 300mm fab capacity was being installed recently.

You are either lying to me, or deluding yourself with this URL you've tossed up for consideration. The very first clue should have been that the chart indicates "estimated" 300 MM production for 2001. Hello! The next thing you needed to check out was the copyright date stamp on this piece of consultancy fluff. 2001. So everything that has not happened since early 2001 has not been reflected in this silly bit of promotional chicanery.

I live in Oregon and I can tell you one example of why this
ICKy-no-wledge piece is flawed. This year, Intel has indefinitely postponed development of its 300 MM fab in "Silicon Forest" outside of Portland because the plant is in the service area of Enron's Portland General Electric. Electricity rate went through the roof last winter, with commercial customers like INTC hit with 70-80% rate increases. IC fabs use a lot of electricity. Ergo, the plant is no longer economically viable. Was this loss of development reflected in the ICKnowledge article and charts? NO!

You may find this to be an amusing look at whores like ICKnowledge:

Re: Why don't you move to Cuba and eat rat stew with Castro and the rest of the population there....

If we let George Bush and his team gets away with their schemes, I won't have to move. This cuisine will come to us.
