It's simply and clearly a lack of moral leadership at the top levels.
That's across the board, politics and business, at the hightest levels, not the lower ones.
That's how politics affects business and the economy, capital formation, etc.
That's another reason, hated by the hard right, that Clinton presided over a booming economy. Regardless of the political pornography thrown out by Republican hypocrites who damaged politics and society, the investing public trusted Clinton in matters of economics and policy.
If trust in the government can be restored, that will help restore trust in the government's ability to oversee fair business dealings.
Clinton had his faults, and I never voted for him, but he knew the issues and for good or ill, you knew who was in charge. |
