Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0 is only a "point product." That means that the Proxy Server is not a security solution with firewall, encryption and authentication capability as are the solutions offered by CyberGuard and its TradeWave subsidiary. In addition, the Proxy Server is offered only as a product and not as a service such as the offerings from TradeWave. The Proxy Server is only a firewall platform integrated onto the front end of an Internet server product for a very narrowly defined application: it is not a security system solution.
