All I know is what I hear the adminstration saying, and the results I see in my daily life, sport.
The recovery should have been along already, quite awhile ago.
The questions raised by the most massive failure of our intelligence services in our history should have had a major investigation, long ago.
Instead, I will not forget on CSPAN the fawning hug Tenet gave Junior at the Bush CIA Headquarters building, a couple months after 9/11. Here's the culprit, hugging another culprit, being given massive new funding. The excitement in the air was terrific, a standing ovation by the 1,000 agents, most of whom should have been in fear for their jobs, praising the political structure that makes American lives irrelevant.
Anyone with any brains would have had a few words to say, and a few heads to roll, in such a situation, if there was any respect at all, for the American people.
Instead, this is just a game, being played inside the beltway, where the people's yearly treasure is a given, and all the focus is on how to carve it up, ignoring the people, even if their lives are on the line.
I guess you've heard that "cliche", too, pal.
Such realizations are no doubt antithetical to your lifestyle dependent on the government, but it looks very different out here in the real world of people that pay for this country, and pay for those who think we owe them a living for failure. |
