Ron,

Many of us believe that there is a false dichotomy in the media concerning Left vs. Right. It's part of the whole Manichean reducto ad absurdum that makes most political rhetoric suitable for the kindergarten and not for more advanced levels like elementary school discussion.

Here's a nifty way to describe a more multi-variate view of the political spectrum. Instead of merely Left/Right, this is vastly more complicating by adding the dimension of Totalitarian/Libertarian to the matrix.
