The book to read on Bre-X is Douglas Goold's Bre-X Fraud. By far the best book on the business of exploration and mining is Jacquie McNish's "The Big Score: Robert Friedland and the Voiseys Bay Hustle". Good macro books on energy are Michael Klare's Resource Wars. Kenneth Deffeyes "Hubberts Peak" has some good material. Matthew Simmons web site has his work on energy, very detailed, and must reading for energy investors.
