Did anyone else listen to the Sanford Bernstein presentation Jerry did?

It was here: amd.com

(not sure when it will be archived)

I missed most of it, but heard the q&a. Here is my best try at some Q&A notes:

Q: relation with Dell?

A: relation with Dell is improving... interested in hammer, no guarantees, can't discuss customer relationships... think over time we'll add Dell to our customer list.

Q: mumble

A: No hammer capacity out of UMC over the next several years. All out of Dresden until well into the future. 65nm node will be co-developed and therefore hammers will come out of singapore.

Q: mumble

A: Itanium yada yada yada.. I'll make a prediction, Intel has no choice but to go to an x86 solution.

[...]

Q: Flash, cost below Intel by year end, aggressive with pricing to increase share?

A: Always aggressive to take share, but want to make money.

Q: If die-size is critical factor, why give it away with UMC?

A: Q doesn't make sense. Very close relationship, not arm's length. Co-develop

Q: HP/Compaq positive for AMD?

A: I certainly hope so. Compaq was first to develop <evo?> and HP was close behind for market outside of US. yada yada yada

Q: mumble

A: labor is much higher in dresden. but challenge is to overall die cost. "our yields are the best in the world." <direct quote!>

Q: <missed it>

A: ...cutting costs where possible, spending more on R&D to take advantage of recovery, flash recovery is starting, hope to see start of PC recovery at back-to-school

Q: transition you to Hector

A: seamless -- Hector is now getting credit for all our good moves, and that's good...
