The Cuban revolution was over 40 years ago! What kind of comparison is that? I'm sure I could take similar figures from before the Russian revolution in 1917, and make it look as though the Soviet Union was a huge success, at least until 1990 or so when it fell apart.

Communism is a failed system. It doesn't work. It is based on false assumptions about the way things work and the reasons people do the things they do. That's why almost all communist countries have collapsed or changed to more-or-less free market systems.

Cuba will eventually abandon communism. And the sooner, the better.
