The companies get a Stock Option Compensation Tax Benefit equal to the ACTUAL stock option cost in a reporting period.

My understanding is that the Stock Option Compensation Tax Benefit is an after-tax number, and that "stock option cost" is a before-tax number. Therefore, they could hardly be equal. I believe it was you that taught me that.
