I would appreciate if you would clarify if you are saying that this is taken as a deduction against income on the tax return or is this the tax credit against tax liability:

The companies get a Stock Option Compensation Tax Benefit equal to the ACTUAL stock option cost in a reporting period. Which is given by the difference between strike price and market price at exercise.

If it is the tax credit, are you saying that no tax deduction is taken, just the credit?
