Thanks for the response and all the information. <<You can stake a placer claim in BC...>> Actually, I'd much prefer to film and interview some small miners, however up in Dawson City around Solomon, the mines that were operating had no trespassing signs all over the place (some of the wording rather unpleasant ;-), but it was probably because of the # of tourist up there. Anyway, I stayed clear thinking they surely wouldn't want to be filmed or interviewed!!
<<I have staked most of the Yukon, and northern BC.>> Could you suggest any locations for video (or photography) as far as landscapes/wildlife/stream(for fishing)/rock formations/waterfalls - mainly for stock footage?? Also, maybe tell me some of the places you wouldn't want exposed don't want to pi$$ you off ;-)
Last summer, the keeper at Rainy Creek campground showed me a slice of black rock his son sent him (who works in the Eskay mine? - not around Stewart). Said it was one of the richest finds of the company. Interesting, he said the gold in the rock was not the sparkling stuff, it was in the dark black portion of the rock. They're sending all the stuff to Japan to be processed.
Thanks again, Bill/WA |
