USA 3 x 2 Portugal SUPERB !! The best game of the tournament so far... An early lead and a completely winning attitude made this team play their best performance ever for the USA in a World Cup. Three GOLAZOS stunned the Portuguese (and the rest of the world) to the point of disbelief... particularly the third one ! which turned out to be the winnig goal Portugal scored as a result of a defensive error (the first) and then an unfortunate own-goal gave the Portuguese their second goal. A fantastic victory which rewards YEARS of efforts by the USA to come up with a world class team... and they have DONE IT !! C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S and thanks to all the soccer moms.... this is how you create a world champion (The ladies already achieved it) I am very pleased to have witnessed an incredible performance (and the trek to get there), from the stumbling beginnings of the days when an olde Pelé and other world class players came to the US to start the MLS effort... culminating with today's victory over Portugal, one of the better European teams.... WELL DONE !! there will be more to come from this team in this tournament !!
