I think Bush has been a good President, but his position(s) on global warming and the environment generally have not been well thought out or well presented. Even the refuge of every politician seeking to avoid an issue -- "Let's appoint a commission of independent experts to figure this out and report back to me" -- hasn't been used. Instead, Bush said, "there isn't any evidence, it needs more study", and now seems like he has no clue really what to say.

He gets in the most trouble when he tries to be too political like this. He is at his best when he strikes a pose of exercising moral authority to do the "right" thing. A mixed bag so far as President, but on balance I think he has shown good judgment and deserves an 8-year tenure.

Comparing him to Clinton is like comparing the family's pet dog to a skunk. Just because the pet dog is better to have around than the skunk doesn't mean he's the best dog for your family.
