More silliness.

I never expected him to keep such a "promise". If the Dens can claim that slowing the rate of growth in federal programs is a "cut" I see nothing wrong with Bush making an exception for an eventuality which was never anticipated and I don't beleive that he never qualified his statements on SS to begin with. But assuming you are correct, the difference is still crucial.

Now I expect a President will have to, from time to time, dissemble on political matters. Its part of the game. However, I don't expect a President to perjure himself to a grand jury, mislead a federal Court, submit doctored evidence in a judicial proceeding, etc. I also don't expect a President to cause millions to be spent in federlal tax dollars to find out the truth behind matters any person of character would have admitted straight out and up front.

That's the difference I see. You can not rationally compare the lawlessness of the criminal enterprise known as the Clinton Administration to the conduct of this Administration..... on any issue.
