Very pertinent questions. As I gather it, one must look for the tell- tale irrationality, the over- the- top expression that amounts to a confession, because it reveals the panic of imminent exposure. The equivalent would be expressions of admiration that are so perversely exaggerated that one would necessarily infer sarcarm. Of course, I am mainly employing a rhetorical device similar to Christopher's allegations of affection, and therefore am playing Beavis to his Butthead.......
