Do you have any URLs, or other information about the IBM quality problems you mention? It is my recollection that the "SUN cache" problem resulted from poor error detection and recovery design on SUN's part based on the ludicrous assumption that there would never be even intermittent failures. Do you have any other instances of "problems with their semiconductors"? I also seem to remember that many of the "disk drive problems" were never documented and could be viewed as FUD or attempts gain monetary advantage. Which specific disk drive problems are you referring too? Do you feel Hitachi is blowing their $2 billion? My understanding is that IBM has almost no debt not related to their highly profitable financing operations. Which "massive debt" are you referring to? What % of Global services is being laid off?
