No. My position is that there are no angels in this war. The endless moralizing that surrounds Israel and Palestine obscures reality. Both sides are fighting for their own perceived strategic interests - existence. The cloak of religion and moral clouds the issue. Sharon acted to spark a conflict because his ideology tells him that it is in the best interest of Israel to fight. Arafat sends suicide bombers into Israel because his ideology tells him that is in the best interests of Palestine. There is no justification for the war outside of two sides fighting for self-interest. Any attempt to provide such a justification is simply post-facto packaging and simply part of tactics of war.

I sometimes think that Nadine is catholic because she is on a perpetual mission to find the original sin. When she gets back to the Sumarians it will be confusing for her. :-)
