Thanks for the reminder, I was going to mention that ;)

After bottoming at 105mt in 1998, the Russians have really got their
act together doing 152mt in 2001 with projections of over 172mt for 2002.
There are quite a few large projects which means even higher future production.

Indonesia, Peru, and Russia have (or soon will) sneak past Canada,
pushing them from 5th to 8th largest gold producer in the world.
