When I was 4, I remember sitting with my Uncle on the concrete pathway to the front door of my Grandmother's farm house. She had a split rail fence at the end of that path and we talked for a while waiting for my parents to come back from the town market.

My Uncle did most of the talking and it was hard to get a word in because he was on a roll (I later learned he has been a talker most of his life).

A kitty walked up to me and I picked it up and placed it in my lap while I pet it. He was still talking and finally I got a pause in the conversation and asked him if he wanted to pet the kitty. He turned towards me, became pale in complexion, and grabbed the kitty tossing it yards away from us but not in time.

Yes, it was no kitty!

It took three tomato juice baths and my grandmother burned our clothes.

Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes, you learn the hard way and (in hindsight) I just can't help but wonder, what if he hadn't reacted that way. We may not have had to waste the tomato juice!

Oh and one other thing, ...ggg, ...what an incredibly foul smell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;-(
