This is so interesting, Karen...THANK YOU for ...

...bringing it here to this thread.

At face value, Ashcroft appears to me to be a consummate power-mad lunatic.

Who wishes people -- all people, including his own 'Christian fanatics' -- to suffer what I must imagine he feels he himself 'deserves.'

Your links about his actions regarding the Oregon state laws are great. I hope that at least, the Oregon newspapers/TV media cover it well...I doubt it, though.

Scratching beneath the surface of John Ashcroft, politician, I suspect that he has some very direct, noon-'Christian' motives to keep the dying alive.

I was in a situation in which I 'needed' to call the shots on my dying father.

If Ashcroft had 'been involved,' no doubt he would have insisted that my Dad be kept on kidney dialysis even thoughh his other organs were failing, yes?

He was comatose.

You know what? I think John Ashcroft has big-time money interests in health care.

That would be his primary motivation.

Let's make money on endless hospitalization and life-saving hugely expensive preventative death 'healthcare' for the terminal.

Anybody got any info as to John Ashcroft's 'investments;' lobbying interests to support the big pharmas, HMOs, and very specifically, the NURSING HOME industry?
