CBS told Schwab that the network wouldn't run the ad because the language specifically takes shots at the ethics of brokers at Merrill Lynch & Co. (MER: Research, Estimates), which recently settled a case for $100 million brought on by New York States Attorney General Eliot Spitzer alleging its stock recommendations were tied to investment-banking fees, the Journal reported.

A CBS spokesman told the Journal that the fact that Merrill is a bigger advertiser with the network had no bearing on the decision not to run the Schwab ad.

LOL! And I'm the Queen of England!

Looks like CBS is *exactly* as corrupt as the brokerage industry! For anyone who ever suspected that the media has a bullish bias- here's the proof! The media is bullish because they are addicted to the brokerage industry ad dollars!
