Anyone not intent upon pouncing on a mistake knew that he meant fewer, and understood it as a reference to the published popular vote. Of course I object to the word "Given", but it is true that the Supreme Court ruled in a manner favorable to Bush, and the result was that he became president. It doesn't matter, he won fair and square, according to Constitutional norms, which is why I went into a lengthy account of the matter. But he is president due to the SCOTUS decision, and if Texas Dude wants to characterize that as "giving him" the presidency, it is within reasonable bounds of discourse, since it registers a disagreement with the ruling. It suffices to chide him for spinning.......
