You can't be serious comparing World War II with the action against Al Queda? We were just spending a billion or two a month in Afghanistan at the height of the action. In World War II we lost 600,000 people in the services. There is no comparison of the scale of the war. Besides, here are the numbers comparing US military spending with the rest of the world.
