I remember that salad oil scandal.

I guess my most ill-starred speculation was to try to age some Gallo Hearty Burgundy (many years ago) thinking it might turn into something really good. I put down about twenty jugs of it. After a few years I tried one and since it had been thoroughly sterilized to start with, it was exactly the same. By that time I had learned to like better things, but we drank our way through it. I guess you might say I broke even since the price had gone up some in the mean time.
