Hi Eric - Here's a little more information on Novell's new building and consolidation plans.

Novell May Consolidate Work Sites in Utah

Jul. 14 (The Salt Lake Tribune/KRTBN)--Employees working at Novell Inc.'s Orem
and Provo sites soon may become better acquainted with one another.

The computer networking software firm is considering consolidating the two sites into
one, said Eric Schmidt, Novell chairman and chief executive officer.

Consolidation makes sense because it would facilitate collaboration, he said. It also may
lower operating expenses.

A survey is under way to gauge employee response to several proposals, Schmidt said.

One scenario has Novell expanding its Provo site and consolidating the work force
there, leasing buildings on the Orem campus.

The company may opt to move Provo workers to Orem. It also may decide not to
consolidate its 2,500-member work force, he said. "We're waiting for the survey results
before any decision is made."

Novell already has announced plans to consolidate about 1,000 San Jose, Calif.,
workers in a new $300 million facility it will build on a 48-acre site it owns near the San
Jose airport.

The company's California work force currently is housed in leased facilities in a
cramped San Jose industrial park. The new complex will include nine buildings capable
of housing up to 4,000 employees.

Schmidt said the first phase of the facility will be completed by the end of next year. He
emphasized Novell's intention to retain sites in Utah and California.

"We're committed to both states," Schmidt said. "That has not changed."
