well there is sneaking a peak (curiosity)...and then there is SNikkin' a PEAK...slobber...slurp...gush. The latter (which is suggested by your example) would be corruptive of character for the Diogenes of record. Could you make another pass at this, keeping things in character. My first idea was that he would condemn the ring and throw it into a river for gollum to find or something. If he were to use it for its powers and yet continue to stand on his philosophy of cinisism what would happen? Would he use it to expose injustice, to mock materialism, to search for a just man incognito? or as you've suggested would he be unable to resist its lure?
