I know the numbers are a little different. Checking the Yahoo site, the tick did not reach -1000 today, but it did on Astrikos. They apparently have slightly different ways of obtaining the data. Anyway, the tick was either, lower, at, or slightly less than -1000. The point is - the level is in the general "neighborhood"

As far as the capex by Intel is concerned, Briefing.com states that Intel reconfirmed the $5.5b number in the conference call.

<<17:37 ET Intel (INTC) 27.00 -1.18: -- Update -- On conference call, the company's formal remarks pretty much mirror the press release. The one additional point in that its cap-ex spending guidance was affirmed at $5.5 bln....Q&A just getting underway....stock at 24.40.>>

The Nasdaq site shows AMAT 3rd most active in AH, down over 7 percent. That amount, added on to the over 6 percent loss today, is quite severe. If I were confident of a "bounce" tomorrow I would be tempted to buy.
