Bombardier Presents The New Outlander ATV Targeting the
Largest ATV Market Segment

VALCOURT, QUEBEC--JUNE 6, 2002 - 14:29 EDT
Bombardier Recreational Products announces the
launch of the new 2003 Outlander(TM) ATV. This tough "Rec-Ute"
(recreational-utility) is a mid-sized quad that heralds a new
sporty look, feel, ride and weight in the growing family of
Bombardier ATV models.

"The Outlander is the newest addition to our line-up of innovative
ATVs. It offers the best value in its class and we believe this
striking ATV is destined to capture the heart of ATV enthusiasts,"
said Jose Boisjoli, President, Marketing, Snowmobiles, Watercraft
and ATVs. "In a sneak preview last winter, the Outlander ATV
scored immediate accolades from the media and dealers for its bold
look and its impressive list of standard features."

Powered by a reliable, high performance 400cc, second generation
4-TEC(TM) Rotax(R) engine, the Outlander also features
Bombardier's revolutionary Surrounding Spar Technology (SST(TM))
frame. This one-piece perimeter steel frame provides greater
strength, structural integrity, better engine protection, and
superior power-to-weight ratio. The SST frame delivers a narrower
bottom profile "runner", whose "slide and glide" action allows the
Outlander to virtually "ski" across obstacles without getting hung
up.

The Outlander ATV design is the result of out-of-the-box thinking
that has repositioned many essential components for greater
effectiveness and efficiency. With the launch of the Outlander,
Bombardier introduces its highly innovative TTI(TM) (Trailing
Torsional Independent) rear suspension that provides superior ride
comfort over a broad range of terrain and conditions. This new
system repositions the two independent pivot points so that the
rear wheels travel in a predictable straight "up-and-down" line
when encountering bumps.

Another industry first is the Outlander's hydraulic disc brakes,
which have been relocated inboard to the center of the chassis
from the traditional placement at the wheel-hubs. This radical
move improves hydraulic efficiency and handling control, plus
provides far greater damage protection while significantly
reducing contamination of the disc surfaces. Even the Outlander's
major service components have been grouped in one very accessible
location, thereby improving ease of regular maintenance.

Standard Outlander ATV features include CVT automatic
transmission, Bombardier's new TTI fully independent rear
suspension, 2WD/4WD selectability, full floorboards, and an
eye-catching, molded rack design. The entire Outlander package
adds up to a fast-response ATV that handles predictably while
offering easier riding, easy steering, and the solid stopping
power of hydraulic brakes. The new Bombardier Outlander promises
to be the strongest new contender in the mid-sized ATV market for
2003. This new model will be available at dealerships before the
beginning of the new year.

Bombardier Recreational Products designs, develops, builds,
distributes and markets utility vehicles, Rotax(R) engines,
Ski-Doo(R) and Lynx(R) snowmobiles, Bombardier(R) ATVs, Sea-Doo(R)
watercraft and sport boats, Bombardier Fish Hawk(TM) fishing boats
as well as the Evinrude(R) and Johnson(R) outboard marine engines
and the Ficht(R) direct fuel injection technology.
