Time and time again, the majority of Israeli citizens have voiced their opinion via polls to withdraw from the occupied territories for a variety of reasons (both practical and moral).

There's no doubt they have a lot of clout. But they were in the process of being overruled in Oslo, until the Palestinians decided to miss another opportunity.

As in this country, you have to watch the wording of the polls. The majority is saying, yes, we would withdraw for peace. But the number of people saying get out now, under these circumstances, is quite small. The Israelis have also internalized the lessons of Lebanon.
