larry, RE: I am having big problem in them not including house price in inflation calculation. Shelter is 31.522% of the CPI. The components of Shelter are Rent of primary residence (6.421%), Lodging away from home (2.702%), Owners' equivalent rent of primary residence (22.046%), and Tenants' and household insurance (0.353%). If you include the cost of heating, furnishing, etc., the total cost of Housing is 40.873% of the CPI.
