Tim...you bring back fond memories with those images. One Christmas, about 30 years ago, my wife asked me what I wanted. I said, a telescope. Got that puppy on Christmas (of course, it was cloudy that day, and the next). So I read up on the winter constellations that were at their best during that time. Orion was high on the list. What was my first target when it cleared up? Orion! And that was many telescopes ago. Orion is still my favorite constellation and M 42 is probably my favorite Messier object! Attaboy!
