The POG rose to $410 just seven years ago and much higher than that in the '80's. Another near term top in the $400 to $500 area is certainly possible. Since gold has little intrinsic value and limited (if any) long term growth potential, I would consider any short term bull market in the sector to be a speculative bubble. Thus if one is going to play it they must heed the greater fool theory.
